From Jeff: Updates for the Site Store

Topic Site News
Site News It has been a very interesting first quarter.  Jamie and I have been working hard to improve the site store.  Trying to do that while dealing with everything else here has made for some slow progress, but progress IS being made.  We have added several new categories and items.  There is now a section for closeout merchandise, for the ZX-10R, and for custom rims, just to name a few.  We've also added Chatterbox electronics, Shoei helmets, and have begun updating the products in the ZZR600, ZX-10R, and ZX-14 listings.  Very soon we will have available custom decals, made by one of our own,  for all bikes.

I have just gotten set up with Marsee Luggage, Moto Luggage, and Twisted Throttle.  Anything you see from Twisted Throttle, I can get.  For that matter, anything you find on the web that you want for your bike, I can probably get for you.  Many times at a better price, even closeouts.

In the near future we will be adding more apparel lines, like TourMaster and Cortech, more electronic items, including Autocomm and GPSs, and more bike specific parts, especially those that have been requested.  If you don't see exactly what you're looking for on the site yet, call me.  I can most likely get it; Jamie just hasn't gotten it up on the site yet.

ZX14 Windscreens In Stock - Finally!

Modifications & Upgrades
The ZZRBikes.com Store is pleased to announce that we now have in stock Puig Windscreens for the ZX14 & ZZR1200.  Puig windscreens are a new product line for the store, and I am pleased to say that the quality of these windscreens is top notch.

These screens are offered in two styles - the Racing Screen is a "double bubble" style windscreen with a raised area to divert air over the rider while maintaining a sport profile.  The Touring Screen is currently offered only for the ZZR1200 and is approximately 3" taller than stock with a very subtle lip at the top edge to divert air.   In addition to the great construction, these windscreens include a strip of rubber molding for the top edge for those that prefer that "rolled" edge.

These windscreens are in stock and ready to ship!  Visit the site store to order yours today.

Avon Tyres introduces the new Storm ST!

Maintenance & Repair
Avon Tyres has announced the Storm ST, a new sport-touring tire range, designed to replace its highly popular Azaro-ST product line.

The Storm ST has already been tested and approved for fitment to all major motorcycles in conjunction with the well-respected German TUV agency.

The Storm ST is the first tire to include Avon’s new "Reactive Footprint" technology.  This technology marries Avon’s unique variable belt density carcass with Lifetime Profile Engineering to produce a footprint which changes size and shape, depending on the bike’s lean angle, for the full life of the tire.

Jamie Hacking set to join Kawasaki AMA Superbike Team

Tommy Hayden's recent announcement that he would ride for Yoshimura Suzuki in the 2007 AMA Superbike season has led to wild speculation about who would replace him in Kawasaki's fledgling Superbike team led by youngest-Hayden-brother, Roger Lee.

Major changes are occuring with several of the factory teams in AMA Superbike, including the secession of the Ducati-Parts Unlimited team from AMA roadracing and the launch of Yamaha's own AMA Superbike team (Yamaha holds championships in AMA Supersport and Superstock but has not fielded a factory team in Superbike for several years).  Not to mention the departure of Aaron Yates from the factory Suzuki flock.

Sources close to the Yamaha team report that team riders Jason DiSalvo and Eric Bostrem have contractual guarantees for their participation in any Yamaha Factory Superbike team, however Superstock Champion Jamie Hacking did not enjoy this same guarantee and yearns to ride in the premier USA class.

As a result of the absense of the senior Hayden brother within Kawasaki, sources report that Jamie Hacking will be moving to the Kawasaki Superbike team for 2007.

Topic Motorcycle Racing
Motorcycle Racing Mission Viejo, CA. August 23, 2006 - Falkner Livingston Racing set a new Land Speed Record at the historic Bonneville Salt Flats on August 18, 2006. The FL Team attended the event with their Cycle Barn Kawasaki ZX-14 running in the 1650cc class.

Rider Paul Thede set the new record on the 3 mile course of 191.802 with a top timed speed of 193.134 mph for the 1650cc Production/Production class. Thede said “The stock Kawasaki ZX-14 is a great motorcycle; it is very fast and reliable, and I really enjoyed riding it down the salt.”
